End of an Era - Carlo Moriano

First Team Gaffer Carlo Moriano has stood down as First Team manager after 13 years in charge.

Because of work commitments first Team Manager Carlo Moraino has stepped down. After moving to the area and starting off as a striker. Carlo took over the managers role from Chris Youl and Steve McCloud as the Dons were promoted back into the GWALF Premier division.

Despite success on the pitch Carlo will be remembered for his work off the pitch. Instrumental off the field as the club pushed forward with buying Badger Park, the pitch being relaid and then the clubhouse build.

Something which allowed the Dons to compete in the Surrey Intermediate league for the first time. The highest league competed in over 100 years of Football in Hambledon.

His work here saw him win the Surrey FA Contribution to Graasroots football, also winning the South East award and making it through to the Nationals in 2014. On pitch he won the GWALF Premier Division, Runners up in the GWALF Premier Cup and saw promotion to the Surrey Intermediate League. With a 47% win ratio in the League in his 13 years at the club.

Will Grove will take over the reigns as first team manager for the 2017/18 assisted by Luke Winter. With their first task to earn promotion to the Intermediate Premier League.

We thank Carlo for his time and hard work and hope to make an announcement in the near future on a new role for him at the club. In the meantime he can concentrate playing for our Vets team.
